A Treasury Warrant, 1723, to George, Earl of Halifax, instructing that the sum of £48,600 in Exchequer bills should be issued to Spencer Compton, Paymaster General of his Majesty´s Forces, signed by Robert Walpole, Richard Edgcumbe and Henry Pelham as Lords of the Treasury, a neatly handwritten document, folio, torn in half and repaired; together with two unrelated receipts by Charles Howard, Earl of Nottingham, for annuity payments, 1662 and 1676, very fine.
