Naval General Service 1793-1840, one clasp, Capture of the Desiree (Daniel Peake.), nearly extremely fine Estimate £ 4,500-5,000 Daniel Peake served as Pilot in H.M.S. Nemesis during services in the Dunkirk Roads towards the end of June 1800, culminating in the capture of the French 38 gun Frigate Desirée by H.M.S. Dart (Commander P. Campbell), 8.7.1800. This is the only instance of a clasp being named to an enemy ship. Approximately 21 clasps issued for this action. Daniel Peake joined the Ship´s Company of Nemesis at Deal, May 1800, and was discharged the following August; he served in the same capacity in H.M.S. Regulus, March-April 1806.
