Naval General Service 1793-1840, one clasp, 17 Mar Boat Service 1794 (James Lunn.), good very fine Estimate £ 3,200-3,600 James Lunn served as Ordinary Seaman in H.M.S. Experiment, when gunboats and guardboats from Vice Admiral Sir John Jervis´s fleet under the orders of Lieutenant Richard Bowers of H.M.S. Boyne, boarded and captured the French 28-gun frigate Bienvenue in Fort Royal Bay, Martinique, 17.3.1794. Approximately 29 clasps issued for this action, of which Lunn was the only recipient from the Experiment.
