New South Wales 1854 (July) Perkins, Bacon & Co. three page memorandum headed "Duplicate" and "Estimate of the probable expense of procuring from England New Steel Plates for Printing One Penny and Three Penny Postage stamps with the requisite supply of Paper, Colours etc.". There then follows a costing for the providing and engraving of the two steel plates, the watermarked paper and the colours, all of which totalled £279 15s 10d. Affixed to the front page are unused examples of the Laureated 1d. orange-vermilion and 3d.yellow-green as samples. A small area around the adhesives has been professionally restored A very important document in the supply of the Diadem issue. Estimate £ 5,500-6,500
