Naval General Service 1793-1840, one clasp, 17 March Boat Service 1794, gilded and contemporarily mounted in silver case, with lunettes, the silver band engraved in upright serif capitals ´I.C. Hall, test mark to silver band at 9 o´clock, otherwise extremely fine, with original ´button-hole´ riband Estimate £ 600-800 The published Naval General Service Medal rolls confirm Charles James Hall as an Able Seaman and/or Purser´s Steward aboard the Ulysses for the Boat Service action of 17.3.1794, and as one of just 29 recipients of this clasp recorded on the Admiralty roll.
