Kurhotel Esplanade Minusio-Locarno. Certificat for 5 Share at Fr. 100 each. Minusio-Locarno, 28. February 1913. Nr. 661/5. Luciano Bacilieri, a doctor from Locarno, founded in 1913 the Kurhotel Esplanade in Minusio with a quite impressive share capital of Fr. 1.1 Mio. The hotel majestically overlooks Minusio and owned a lot of land down to the Lago Maggiore. Soon war broke out and revenues dried out quickly. In 1915 the Company went bankrupt. With help of a local group of investors, Alfredo Fanciola reopend very successfully the Esplanade as a five star hotel. Guests were many famous politicians and artists. In 1925 the German delegation at the 1925 Locarno peace conference took residence in the prestigious Esplanade. Since 1997 under the name Esplanade Hotel Resort & Spa. Founders share of this famous hotel with facsimile signature of Luciano Bacilieri as president. VF.
