Banca Credito Ticinese. Azione 500 Franken. Locarno, 1. April 1891. Nr. 775. The Banca Credito Ticinese was founded in 1890. In 1908 it acquired the Banca Agricola Commerciale Lugano, which was in difficulties. In 1914 Banca Credito Ticinese was one of the three banks that collapsed and provoked a general bank crisis in canton Ticino. The Swiss confederation and the major banks were forced to develop a rescue plan. Business was taken over by the newly founded Banca del Ticino. EF.
