1859, Nov. 22. Entire letter from Nancagua to Valparaiso with manuscript endorsement at top reading "Franca 5 c." following application of "Estancos" 10c. diagonal half which applied over this manuscript indication, tied by mute cancel, showing superb "NANCAGUA" oval handstamp at bottom left, which is the only postmark known from this locality used in the pre-adhesive and classic periods. The finest of just two covers known exhibiting this oval postmark. Ex Menéndez.
