1947, March 31. Registered airmail envelope from Calymnos to London, bearing 1d., 2 1/2d. (slight imperfections) and 5d. (5), tied by British ´´Calymnos/Dodecanese´´ cds´s, twice repeated on reverse where accompanied by the recently introduced Greek ´´Rodos´´ cds, thus demonstrating on postal document the transfer of the Dodecanese Islands to the Greek administration (1.4.1947). A spectacular and very rare exhibition item for both its franking and cancellation, further enhanced by its most important feature: the usage on 31.3.1947, the last day of the British Administration of the Dodecanese.
