Szechuan Province, Republic, China, brass 100 cash, Year 19 (1930), obverse marked 'Chuan' at centre for 'Szechuan', Chinese characters 'Bian' and 'Zhu' on left and right respectively, meaning the coins were minted in the surrounding areas of Szechuan; seal script text on reverse is a direct reflection of the poor quality coins in general circulation, their depreciation in value and hyper-inflation - a rare instance in which the ideograms are an amalgam of beautiful caligraphy, explaining the status of local economy and public opinion, (Y-466a), well struck and in better quality brass compared to coins of the same era amidst the rule of profit maximising warlords. PCGS XF45, cert. #42126166, rare and highly desirable
