The Kwongtung Tramway Co., Limited, share certificate of $10 issued at the Hong Kong Office with interest registration booklet and receipt, 6th July 1921, folio number 920, certificate number 1244, capital of $3,500,000 divided into 3,500,000 shares, navy, tram upper centre, borders with Jugendstil motifs, handsigned signatures. The company was set up by American Chinese Wu Jieqing to undertake the building of an electric tram line in Guangzhou after raising sufficient capital, which never became fully realised because of monetary disputes with the Guangzhou government, and smaller sections of the tramway had to be suspended because of multiple accidents. The tracks being laid were ultimately taken by Japanese forces during the second world war. Very Fine, some stains and foxing, with original envelope
