1932 (31 May.) registered envelope to Leyte, Philipine (6.6) bearing Hong Kong 20c. pair cancelled by Hong Kong registered c.d.s., showing "R/33G" registration label of the Emergency Postal Service, with "Shanghai/E.P.S." violet framed h.s. on front, and arrival h.s. on reverse, fine and rare registered envelope from this emergency service.

Due to a postal strike, the Shanghai Municipal Council started an emergency mail service on May 24. The Council set up bulk mail pickup and delivery to Hong Kong, Japan, Vancuover, London and other locations. The service lasted for six days only and the local Boy Scouts assisted with running the service.
