The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, $500, 1.3.1897, without serial numbers, red and green, bank coat of arms at upper centre, '$500' at its left and right, central panel stating bank title, promise to pay and denomination in English text and equivalent in Chinese characters within the red borders, reverse red, arms at centre, bank title and denomination, perforated 'CANCELLED' three times, printed by Barclay and Fry Limited, London,
(Pick 149r), PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated (Previously Mounted). The only pre 1900 HSBC $500 note graded by PMG. A magnificent note of the highest rarity and desirability in top grade.
