1930, a composite essay for a proposed Zanzibar Postage Due based on the Hong Kong design with the scales produced by a semi-photographic process and the remainder of the design hand-painted in dark green. On thin card 52x48mm) affixed to the thick De la Rue card and marked "DUPLICATE 9.10.30".


This design was produced at the request of the Zanzibar authorities and shows a different shape to the background surround. One of only two recorded and would make a desirable addition to a collection of Hong Kong postage dues. Ex Griffith Jones. Photo
