1844 (9 June) entire letter from Martinique addressed to an ensign serving on the corvette 'Sabinne' on the Indian Station, c/o Ile de Bourbon (Reunion). The flap bears a good strike of the despatch "port royal" within parallel lines struck on blue, St. Pierre et Miquelon (11.6) transit, sent to Paris (20.7) where it was held by the Bureau Maritime and forwarded to St. Denis eight months later with a good strike of the c.d.s. (4.3), the letter was again held here before being forwarded to Hong Kong with a fine strike of the type 9 c.d.s, (24.12) and with rate mark "4" in blue crayon.
