1898 Surcharges Without Chinese Characters
10c. on 30c. grey-green variety surcharge double, large part original gum. This stamp shows the typical close double of this variety. A fine and very rare stamp, bring only the second example recorded. B.P.A. Certificate (2020). S.G. 54b

The two strikes of the surcharge, struck close together, are of equal intensity. It is believed that only six examples could have been produced without the Chinese character as the associated stamps from the right pane are with the large Chinese character
