The Mercantile Bank of India Limited, $50, 1.7.1935, serial number 58025, brown on multicolour, bust of man at left, watermark of the same at right, a neat handsigned signature at bottom centre, '50' at each corner, reverse brown and green, Chinese mansion at centre,
(Pick 240a), PMG 55EPQ About Uncirculated. Though only the second highest grade in the PMG population report, it is the ONLY with an EPQ status for this type (1935, 1937 and 1941 dates) at the time of writing. In January 2018 Spink hammered the PMG 58 note at $460,000HKD, and it is expected that this note would see competition equal to if not more fierce to the PMG 58 note. A true rarity for any serious collector of Hong Kong banknotes.
