1949 (17 May) air mail cover to USA, tied by Changsha $40 red machine meter. Therefore, when the Hunan Post Office used the silver Yuan to charge postage, the face value of the postage meter was still Dollar, so the post office re-covered the dollar with the word Cent (Fun), on the reverse with New York arrival c.d.s. (24.5). This kind of Changsha postage meter value change is only one in record.


1949年湖南長沙寄美國航空封1件，銷長沙5月17日代宣傳內容中華郵政長沙（一）郵資已付40圓郵資機戳，宣傳內容為“快快快，航郵頂快”，因此時湖南郵區以使用銀元計費郵資，郵資戳面值仍為“圓”，因此郵局以“分”字將“圓”字重新覆蓋，背有美國紐約5月24日到達戳，保存完好，此種長沙郵資機面值重新改蓋者目前僅件此枚，非常罕見，寄信人為常德廣德醫院（今常德第一醫院）第三任院長巴天明先生，收信人是其女兒巴玉華，為美國東洛杉磯學院歷史學教授，著名湖南抗戰歷史專家，曾著有多部相關湖南抗戰史書籍
