Western Han Dynasty, gold disc weighing 246g, of high importance in the dvelopment of Chinese usage of gold. This issue is usually cake-shaped and served for large payments and storage of wealth. During Western Han Dynasty, the Gold Discs were splendid, the weight was relatively uniform, and the shape was basically unified so it became the major gold coin at that time. Not many Gold Discs were struck, and thus it is high in research value. The potential market value is to be explored. In 2006, a Gold Disc was sold by a Beijing auction house for 200,000rmb.
