The Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China, $5 raised to $50 on a genuine note dated 1.7.1919, serial number M/A 330039, the '$5' and the Chinese character 'Wu' raised to '$50' and 'Wu Shi' (Fifty), the English word 'FIVE' unchanged, blue on pale orange, bank coat of arms at centre, denomination at each corner, rice pounding scene at left and sampans at right, black printed manuscript signature at lower right, hand stamped 'CANCELLED' in English and Chinese,
(Pick 41 for type), about very fine, the base note in superb condition. A good attempt at deception.
