Small Dragons
Covers
1893 (27 June) large envelope registered to Switzerland bearing, on the reverse, 1888 clean-cut perf. 5ca. pane of twenty from an unknown setting (possibly left pane setting V) a block of five and single plus 1ca. horizontal pair all tied by Customs Kiukiang c.d.s. in red; there is a Customs Shanghai c.d.s. alongside (29.6) and Berne arrival. The address side with France 25c. (3) and 1f. (3) tied by "shang-hai/chine" c.d.s. (30.6), French mail boat c.d.s. in red and two registration handstamps. There is some light soiling which barely detracts from this highly important Small Dragon cover.

132 candareens represents a fourteen times rate plus registration. This is probably the highest franking Small Dragon cover. Photo
