The Canton Government Bank, $1, 1916, serial number 005641, vertical format, black floral borders, black Chinese text on pale blue underprint with bank title, '1' at each corner in Chinese and Arabic numbers, red seals of the Minster of Finance and Chinese Goverment Adminstrator at bottom left, a purple-red seal at the lower right corner, reverse orange, ornate patterned border, black Chinese text stating terms and conditions at centre, 3 clear red stamps near bottom left
(Pick not listed), original solid very fine, no holes, no tears and no graffiti. A most pleasing note to the eye and an extremely rare issue that has only been sold one other time in the last 10 years or so. A must for the Republican banknote collector, especially in the Guangdong region
