A much duplicated collection of Q.V. issues in two Exeter albums which feature a lot of postmark interest and includes 1862 set to 96c. with some Treaty Port obliterators in blue or black; extensive 1863-71 issue with 2c. shades (30) including watermark inverted (2), 4c. (25) including inverted watermark (2), perf.12½ with "S1" and "Y1", 6c. (12) including inverted watermark, 8c. (20) including reversed watermark and "62B" in blue, 12c. shades (24) including watermarks inverted or reversed, 18c., 24c. (20) one with Strait Settlements dumb obliterator, 30c. orange (10), 30c. mauve (24) with French maritime datestamps in red and in black, 48c. (12) including inverted watermark, 96c. olive-bistre (re-perfed.), 96c. grey (9) including inverted watermark, this section with a wealth of Treaty Port obliterators in black or blue plus some c.d.s.; 1876-77 surcharge with 16c. on 18c. including space between "n t" (2) and cracked "1"; 16c. yellow (4); duplicated 1880 surcharges, 1880 values to 48c. (2) one cancelled Shanghai Ci c.d.s. dated 1885 (7 Oct.); duplicated 1882-96 including 2c. rose and 5c. blue inverted watermark, others with "I.P.O." tieprints including in blue, Chinese postmarks including pa-kua in blue, Kowloon Customs (3), other overseas cancellations, French maritime datestamps, one in red, Haiphong/Tonkin, and many Treaty Post postmarks; 1885 surcharge values to $1 on 96c. (5); 1891 to 50c. on 48c. and $1 on 96c. (4) without Chinese handstamp and with handstamp (13); 1891 7c. on 10c. antique "t" and surcharge close double (repair); 1898 surcharges including 10c. on 30c. without character and with large character (2, perf. faults or faded); 1900-01 with Treaty Port c.d.s., overseas cancellations and some inverted watermarks. Also Postage Dues and a few others. Condition is naturally a little mixed in places as to be expected of a collection of this nature, however, the concentration and variety of the postmark interest makes this a most interesting and appealing collection.
