1942 (16 Dec.) double-weight (40g.) envelope double registered to Kweiyang (18.1.43), bearing North China Half Value surcharges 2c. on 4c. Dr. Sun Yat-sen 2nd London printing, 15c. on 30c. and 25c. on 50c. Dr. Sun Dah Tung printing, tied by "Peking" c.d.s., showing rectangular "A.R." bilingual h.s. in red adjacent, very fine and rare usage of the issues outside the occupied area. Photo
The postage for a 40g. double registered mail in "full" values should be $3 (50c. for every 20g. ordinary+$1 for registration+$1 for "A.R."). Such postage rate was in force since 1 Dec. 1942 due to continuous currency depreciation. The postage of the envelope in "full" values totalled only 84c. which paid the "old" rate (16c. for every 20g. ordinary+26c. for registration+26c. for "A.R.").
