Mercantile Bank of India, Hong Kong, genuine $50 raised to $500 Chartered Bank, 1935, serial number 50573, (Pick 240ax), PMG 15NET, splits. A historically interesting piece as the Mercantile $500 did not exist until 1948. Also the 1930s series of Chartered Bank notes did feature male bust at left. Therefore this example likely did fool some unfortunate merchants!


1935年有利銀行伍拾員改印度新金山中國渣打銀行伍佰員，編號50573，PMG 15NET，有裂。此改值票具有重要的歷史意義，因為有利銀行的伍佰員紙鈔直到1948年才發行。此外，1930年代印度新金山中國渣打銀行的紙幣左側印有男性頭像，因此本品很大機會曾經矇騙過一些倒楣的商家！
