Receipt, old Documents and Ephemeral Items
This is the first generation of Hong Kong identity cards issued under the 1949 Registration of Persons Rules. This card was issued on April 9, 1951. At the time, these cards were hand-filled on hardcover paper with five different colors for ordinary citizens and fishermen, New Territories residents, government servants, small and large enterprise employees. The ID card on the lot is light purple, with the occupation written on it as a teacher. It also includes a photograph and fingerprints.


根據1949年人事登記規則而簽發的香港第一代身份証, 此証於1951年4月9日簽發, 當時發出的身份證是以人手填上資料的硬皮紙張, 有五種顏色分別區別普通市民和漁民, 新界居民, 政府公務員, 小機構僱員和大機構僱員. 拍品的身份証是淺紫色, 塡寫職業是教師. 証上貼有照片及有指模.
