1922 a commemorative silver plaque; it was presented by Chinese employees to Mr. T. Hareorne, the last outgoing Poostmaster of the British Post Office in Shanghai.
From the opening of the British Postal Agency in Shanghai in 1844 to the closure of the British Post Office in 1922, it existed in Shanghai for 78 years. Mr. T. Hareorne was the last Postmaster. This commemorative silver plaque is beautifully crafted, with pine, crane and sun decorations around it. It is supported by a carved wooden base. It is in good condition. It is a historical testimony to the end of Britain's control of China's postal services since the late Qing Dynasty


1922年紀念銀牌一面; 是中國員工送給離任的最後一位上海英國客郵局局長T. Hareorne 先生 . 自1844年英國在上海開辦郵政代辦始至英國客郵局在1922年撤銷, 共在上海存有了78年. 而T. Hareorne 先生則是最後一任局長了. 此紀念銀牌打工精美, 週邉飾以松,鶴及太陽. 再托以彫花木底坐. 保存狀態良好. 是英國在華結束其自清末以來控制了中國郵務的歷史見証.
