Oriental Bank Corporation, Hong Kong, obverse colour trial for $5, 1.9.1882, no serial numbers, uniface, purple on light green, arms at centre,
(Pick 267cts1), PMG 63, selvage included, previously mounted. A previously unseen colour trial of this early Oriental Bank $5. An issued note was sold at Spink April 2018 for HKD960,000 (inc. premium). Note the $25 of the same series is in orange indicating there were propsals to issue all coloured notes for this series but in the end the $5 remained as black and white. Possibly unique and once in a life time opportunity to obtain a piece of Hong Kong finacial history.
