UT. [Kirtland]. Re-issue Kirtland Safety Society Bank. $2. February 4, 1837. (Rust 68). Farmer and woman watch men in fields, top; man shearing sheep, left; sailing ship, right. Dated February 4, 1837 in Kirtland, OH and signed by Joseph Smith, Jr. and Sidney Rigdon. The note was later re-issued in Salt Lake City and countersigned on the face by Brigham Young and Heber C. Kimball. Also, signed by N.K. Whitney and with the secret mark of "TB" for Thomas Bullock. Features the official seal of the Twelve Apostles. Only 22 Reissued $2 notes were authorized and logged in the Church´s records. This particular serial number - 4971A - is listed in the Rust census. Remarkable!
