Lot: 1517

New Zealand 1966 (3 Aug.) Health 4d.+1d., a horizontal strip of four, the first stamp with deep brown omitted and the adjoining stamp with partial omission, perfs reinforced with hinge between first and second stamps, otherwise fine. Pierron NZ1680MCa, £1,800+; C.P. T38b(Z); S.G. 840a, £1,800. Photo Estimate £ 600-800 Note: The missing deep brown results in the loss of the values and inscription, and causes the bird to appear brown. It is only known from sheets and usually in a progressive strip. It is likely the first column of two sheets were affected as examples exist with different centring and some have a slight shift of yellow. provenance: Paul Wales
