The error was caused by an up shift of red on a gum arabic sheet. It is unknown if all four panes from the affected sheet were discovered. An example exists from the bottom row of a pane with the red plate number on the stamp proving the nature of the error. Although such examples are not technically missing red, they have value as the proving pieces. quantity: 4 to 16 mint
