Mexican 5% Deferred Stock, 1837, bond for £500 or Land Warrant for 2000 acres, signed by Don Augustin de Yturbide as Mexican Chargé d´Affaires in London, large format piece engraved by Whitings of London, eagle at top, black, with coupons, very fine and rare Estimate £ 150 Don Augustin de Yturbide (1807 - 1866), son of Emperor Augustin de Yturbide, who was executed following the abolishment of the monarchy. Educated in England, served in the Mexican legation in London. Later fought in the Mexican-American War. Approved the adoption of his nephews by Emperor Maximillian following the restoration of the monarchy in 1864. Died unmarried in New York.
