Founded by Deed of Settlement in 1826 primarily for non Anglicans who were exluded on religious grounds to attend Oxford or Cambridge. Building started in 1827 and it received a Royal Charter in 1836. Now a federation of 19 self governing colleges. Estimate £ 200
