Belfast Gold Mining Co. Ltd., £1 shares, Barberton 1886, signed by Sigismund Neumann as director and James B Taylor as a witness to a transfer on the reverse, ornate border, black, spike and hole puch at left, fine to very fine. Estimate £ 100 Sir Sigismund Neumann (1857-1916), leading financier at Kimberley, Barberton and on the Rand; James B Taylor (1860-1944), commenced association with Alfred Beit in 1879, worked for Wernher and Beit in 1886, partner in H. Eckstein & Co. in 1888 and elevated to a partner in Wernher, Beit & Co. in 1890. Retired in 1894. First President of the National Bank of South Africa.
