James I (1603-1625), Coronation 1603, silver medal, unsigned, m.m. rose, laureate, armoured bust right, iac:i:cae:avg:hac caesa-rvm cae d.d, rev. lion rampant left holding beacon and wheatsheaf, ecce.phaos; popvliq. salvs (MI 1, 11), bold portrait, edge nick, some weakness in reverse legend, good very fine - nearly very fine Estimate £ 700-800 Struck for distribution at the coronation of James I on 25 July 1603. This was the first medal struck for this purpose in England.
