Irish Rif), very fine Estimate £ 50-70 3389 Colour Sergeant Walter Charles Hoare, born Exeter, Devon; enlisted 1st Battalion Royal Irish Rifles at Limerick, 1892; served with the regiment during the Boer War (entitled to Q.S.A. and K.S.A.); Colour Sergeant 11.2.1905 (L.S. & G.C. 1910); discharged 18.4.1913, after 21 years service with the Colours; re-engaged for service during the Great War, 23.9.1914; he did not serve abroad and was discharged, 1917 (War Badge No. 287781).
