Hussars); Turkish Crimea, Sardinian die, Hunt and Roskill pattern, unnamed, generally very fine or better, the British awards with contemporary top silver riband bars, these lacking pins (3) Estimate £ 400-500 1889 Saddler Sergeant William John Andrews, born Tavistock, Devon, 1831; enlisted 1st Dragoons, September 1853; served with the Regiment in the Crimea, (entitled to Crimea Medal with clasps Balaklava, Inkermann, and Sebastopol); transferred 8th Hussars, June 1855; promoted Saddler Sergeant, February 1856; served with the Regiment during the Indian Mutiny during operations in Central India; awarded Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, September 1874; discharged, January 1875, after 21 years and 139 days with the Colours, having spent 1 year and 328 days in the Crimea, and 6 years and 137 days in India.
