A Rare Waterloo and Belgian Independence Pair to J.-H. Thiemann, King´s German Legion Waterloo 1815 (Henry Thimann [sic], 4th Line Batt. K.G.L.), with original steel clip, lacking suspension ring; Belgium, Kingdom, Independence Medal 1830, nearly very fine, both housed in small circular frames, together with two framed etchings, of a Private in the 4th Line Battalion, King´s German Legion, 1815; and a Soldier in the Belgian Independence Army, 1830 (2) Estimate £ 800-1,000 Private Jean-Henri Thiemann, born Hannover, July 1785; served with the 4th Line Battalion, King´´s German Legion during the Waterloo Campaign and present at Hougoumont, on the morning of Waterloo, 18.6.1815, where the British Guards were backed up during the height of the Battle by the 2nd Line Battalion and Light companies from the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Battalions; later served with the Belgian Independence Army, 1830, and wounded three times by enemy bayonets during the attack on Nimy Bridge, Mons, 19.9.1830; died May 1847.
