x Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Life Saving Medal, silver (Insp. A.E. Watts. 1955.), lacking integral ´For Humanity´ top riband bar, very fine Estimate £ 50-70 Chief Inspector A.E. Watts was awarded the R.S.P.C.A. silver medal for the rescue of a sheep from a ledge in a disused stone quarry at Ygvshir, Glamorgan, Wales, on the 23rd November, 1955. He was a very ebullient man, well over 6 feet tall, who threw himself with enthusiasm into rescuing various animals from difficult and dangerous places, even at Brighton, Sussex, his last posting.
