x India General Service 1895-1902, V.R., two clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Tirah 1897-98 (Brevet Col. A.P. Wodehouse. 2d Bn. Ryl. Innis Fus.), surname partially officially corrected, nearly extremely fine Estimate £ 300-340 Colonel Albert Philp Wodehouse, born 1846, son of the Colonel Philip Wodehouse, of Powick, near Worcester; educated at Cheltenham College and Sandhurst; commissioned Lieutenant 69th Foot, 1865, and in 1870 he was one of the officers from the regiment who took part in the action to quell the Fenian Raid in Canada (entitled to medal, however as it was only approved in 1899 and issued up until 1928 he may not have claimed it given his retirement date and date of death); Captain 1875; transferred Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, 1879; Major 1885; he commanded the 2nd Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the Tirah Campaign, 1897-98, and was engaged in the Bara Valley and the occupation of the Khyber Pass (Brevet Colonel); retired 1898; died 5.9.1919.
