x The Gwalior and Second Sikh War Pair to Lieutenant-Colonel F.V.R. Jervis, 56th Bengal Native Infantry, Severely Wounded at Chilianwala, 13.1.1849 Maharajpoor Star 1843 (Ensign F.V.R. Jervis 56th Regt Native Infantry), with contemporary silver hinged straight bar suspension; Punjab 1848-49, one clasp, Chilianwala (Lieut. F.V.R. Jervis, 56th Bengal N.I.), light pitting from Star to last, therefore very fine (2) Estimate £ 1,000-1,200 Lieutenant-Colonel Felix Vincent Richard Jervis, born Benares, India, 1826, the son of Lieutenant-Colonel John Jervis, 5th Bengal Native Infantry (who died at sea enroute to England, 1849); educated at Mr. George Roberts´´ Military Seminary, Lyme Regis, Dorset; commissioned Ensign 56th Bengal Native Infantry, 1843; Lieutenant 1845; after service in the Gwalior Campaign he served with the regiment during the Punjab Campaign, where he took part in the battles of Sadoolapore and Chilianwala, being severely wounded at the latter; Captain 1854; he commanded a detachment of three companies during the Santhul Rebellion, 1855-6; advanced Lieutenant-Colonel 1868; on medical leave he died at Malta, 20.6.1873, like his father he was enroute to England.
