x Abyssinia 1867-68 (Lieut. J.J. Fletcher Madras Infy.), suspension re-affixed, good very fine Estimate £ 350-400 Captain Joseph John Fletcher, born 1841; commissioned Ensign, Madras Infantry, 1861, arriving in India the following year; seconded to the 2nd Regiment of Bombay Infantry, November 1867, for service during the Abyssinia Campaign 1867-68; directly after the campaign he spent two years on sick leave in England; served as Quarter Master 29th Native Infantry, 1871-79; Captain 1874; he died whilst on sick leave in Norwood, Middlesex, 31.5.1880.
