PA.L.I.), edge regimentally impressed, with German silver straight bar suspension, light contact marks overall, generally very fine (3) Estimate £ 1,200-1,600 570 Private Patrick Moran, born Kilmeena, County Mayo, Ireland, 1807; enlisted 13th Foot, 1825; arrived in India with the Regiment, 1826, and was present at the storming of Ghuznee in July 1839 and the forts of Tootumdurrah and Joolgah in Kohistan, in 1840, present at the several engagements in forcing the passes from Cabool to Jellalabad in 1841 and the defence of the latter fortress in 1841 and 1842; present in the general engagement at Jellalabad 7th April 1842, at Jugdulluck 8th September Tazeen 13th September and recapture of Cabool 15th September 1842´´ (Service Papers refer); invalided out of the service, July 1844, after 20 years and 99 days service with the Colours.
