Brownlow 1st Punjab Infy.), light contact marks to obverse, otherwise good very fine Estimate £ 300-350 Colonel Cecil Barry Brownlow, born 1854; educated Clifton College, St. John´´s College Cambridge and Sandhurst; commissioned Second Lieutenant 17th Foot, 1875; transferred Indian Army, 1877; served with the 1st Punjab Infantry during the Second Afghan War 1878-80 (medal); Captain 1886; served during the Mahsud-Waziri Expedition, 1881 and the Mirazai Expedition, 1891; advanced Lieutenant-Colonel 1901; served in Waziristan 1901-02 (medal and clasp); retired Colonel 1904; in later life he resided in The Old Well Cottage, Forest Row, Sussex.
