German Colonies Mariana Islands 1899-1900 — 3pf. to 50pf., the set of six, tied by five violet "saipan marianen/31/12/99" cancellations to envelope registered to Berlin via Yokohama and New York, transit and arrival markings on reverse fine. An exceptionally rare cover, prepared by the Colonial Administrator Fritz, sent out with the first regular mail to leave the German Marianas on the yacht "Esmeralda" which arrived at Yokohama of 25 February 1900.
