Uganda 1895 (March) Wide Letters in Black, Wide Stamps The first issue was produced by the Rev. Ernest Millar, C.M.S., using his Barlock typwriter with a black ribbon. He typed nine rows across each sheet of foolscap sized sermon paper. With thirteen vertical rows, 117 stamps were obtained in each sheet. The stamps varied in width from 20mm. to 26mm. The quality of the paper often resulted in the stamps being creased before use. Cover 10(c.) pair with margins or traces thereof on all sides, both with manuscript cross on slightly stained envelope from Richard Leakey at Koki, dated "Dec 11/95" on flap, addressed to Bishop Tucker at Baganda and re-addressed in the handwriting of the Rev. Ernest Millar to Luba´s Busago. Extremely rare, only two such frankings are known (both to the same addressee), this by far being the finer. S.G. 2.
