x Sudan British Military Forces in Egypt and Sudan, 1801 to 1913 The Gedaref Relief Force 1898 (5 Nov.) envelope (complete with photocopy of contents) from Major-General Rundle at Blue Nile to Major Sandbach at Cairo and redirected to London, bearing Egypt 1pi. neatly cancelled with Cairo c.d.s. (23.11) and with arrival c.d.s. (30.11) on reverse; the contents include "I have been up here with a force opening the road to Gedaref & relieving Charles Parsons who got himself shut up there" and with notes on the climate and loss of forces due to ill-health.
