"enveloppe lettre" from William Spottiswoode Sparkes at Atbara Camp to England, cancelled with "berber" c.d.s. and another fine strike alongside and showing, on reverse, Wadi-Halfa (8.2), Cairo and Portsmouth (25.2) c.d.s.; traces of soiling, otherwise fine and with interesting contents including "We are constantly patrolling and have already had one brush with Dervishes of which we got considerably the best.".
