Officer´s "On Her Majesty´s Service" (deleted) envelope (with letter) ex the "Sandbach" correspondence to Mhow, India, marked "No stamps available, active service in Egypt", bearing India 1882 3a. orange tied by superb "B" in circle of bars and showing, on reverse, fine "field force p.o. egypt/No1" c.d.s. for 23rd September, Sea Post Office and arrival datestamps. The letter, headed "Kassassin", refers to the Duke of Teck who "is here nominally as chief of the Post Office Corps". Very rare. With transcript.
