x Sudan British Military Forces in Egypt and Sudan, 1801 to 1913 The Arabi Rebellion 1882 Indian Army Post Office 1882 (9 Sept.) Officer´s envelope to Umballa, India, bearing India 1/2a. blue vertical pair and 2a. orange (top right corner torn away), all tied by large part strike of rare "field force p.o. egypt/no.1/b" duplex, thought to have been used at Ismailia, and showing Sea Post Office and arrival datestamps on reverse. Very rare, the earliest of the four known outgoing covers from this campaign bearing Indian adhesives. Photo Estimate £ 1,500-1,800 Note: The writer, Lt. Col.
